Crown Trout Jewelers Presents “Everyday Form” Fine Art Photography by Jennifer Bucheit

glassesPCCrown Trout Jewelers will host an exhibition of fine art photography by Jennifer Bucheit of Middleton, WI.  The show features a group of black and white images celebrating the formal aesthetics in common everyday objects.  The subjects are items found in the home office, toolbox, kitchen etc.  “ All of the items have a basic function, but with this series I attempted to treat them as sculpture; searching for a compelling relationship between the light, the object and its shadow to reveal a hidden elegance” says Bucheit.  A public reception for the artist will be held Friday November 1 from 4-7pm at Crown Trout Jewelers 107 Parkway Ave N in Lanesboro, MN.  The exhibition will run through December 22, 2013.  Please call 888-750-9294 for more information.

Happy Couples on Equal Footing

Crown Trout Jewelers is proud to do business in a state that recognizes and honors our GLBT community.  As of August 1, 2013  Minnesota legalized gay marriage.  We congratulate our friends, family and clients who have waited so long to tie the knot.  Our very first couple through the door after this landmark decision was Emily and Carol who had already been together for 25+ years.  They had purchased rings years ago but over time they ceased to fit right and needed to be refurbished.  Emily and Carol planned to get married in Lutsen, MN in August and needed their rings in a jiffy.  We were able to size and make their bands look like new in time for their upcoming trip.  They were so excited and pleased that they agreed to share a few pictures from their special day with us.  Congratulation Emily and Carol and thank you for choosing Crown Trout Jewelers!handsringsemilycarol

Redeaux your “I do”!

One of our greatest joys as craftsman is the art of custom designing jewelry with our clients.  The process is exciting, informative and incredibly personal.  We respect and cherish the part we play in creating legacy pieces like the rings you see here.  It was a rainy spring day when Stephen and Bonita happened into our shop and before you knew it we were engaged in creating a new set of rings for this long married incredible couple!  They settled on 18kt white gold bands with 18kt yellow gold, palladium and silver “samidare” mokume gane.  Mokume gane is a technique of layering and folding different colored metals to achieve unique surface patterns.  Stephen and Bonita were no strangers to wide banded rings so it was a delight to create rings for them that really showcased the beautiful samidare patterning at it’s best. We thank Stephen and Bonita for supporting us as jewelry artists and for giving us the opportunity to play a part in their story!
